Salacak, Altunizade, Acıbadem, Ünalan

Salacak runs along the shore: sea-facing buildings, older walk-ups and smaller sites. Weekends and fine weather get busier. “I’m on the shore” does not say which street the door is on; the coast road and the entrance can be different. Selimiye is further south, toward Harem and Kadıköy; there is a Wednesday Selimiye market. Kız Kulesi Villaları is in Salacak, Prestij Konakları in Sultantepe.

Bağlarbaşı and Altunizade are the most critical transport belt. Both have M5 stops; Altunizade has the metrobus too. Kısıklı Caddesi, İcadiye Bağlarbaşı Caddesi, the D-100 — busy at some hours. Altunizade is full of sites, plazas and offices. Validebağ Sitesi, Mesa Avrupa Konakları, Çamlıca Konakları, Çamlıca Rezidans, Site 61. Mesa has A/B/C gates; which gate, next to the site name, is a real help. Parking is less of a problem than in the old streets; the right entrance still matters.

Acıbadem and Ünalan sit in the south-east, tangled with Kadıköy and Ataşehir. Customers say “Kadıköy”, “Acıbadem” or “Üsküdar”; we confirm district and neighbourhood. In Acıbadem, Akasya leads: Göl, Koru, residences — without stage and block, “I’m at Akasya” is thin. Almondhill, Tibaş Park, Baytur too. Ünalan is a large-site belt: Emaar Square, Emaar Residence/Heights, Soyak Göztepe Residence, Göztepe Soyak, The Address, Kiptaş. “I’m at Emaar” is definitely not enough; residence or tower, gate, and if you can the car-park or security entrance.

The Çamlıca slopes, the old streets, the Bosphorus

Uphill: Bulgurlu, Kısıklı, Küçük Çamlıca. Old streets plus wide parcels, sites and villas. Kısıklı is on the M5, after Altunizade then Bulgurlu. Near the metro does not make pulling in easier. Büyük Çamlıca Caddesi can be heavy; side streets have slope and parking. Bulgurlu is more neighbourhood and walk-up. Thursday market around Uzundere makes some streets harder. Küçük Çamlıca has villas, low buildings, gardens; when the address leaves the main road, a pin makes our work much easier.

Valide-i Atik, Selami Ali, İcadiye, Murat Reis, Zeynep Kamil: old Üsküdar, small streets, hills. Not “which block?” — “which street, which building, where can the van wait?” Soyak Bağlarbaşı Evleri, Bağlarbaşı Evleri, Konsept Üsküdar Rezidans around Murat Reis. Monday Bağlarbaşı market is on various streets in Selami Ali. Sera Park Rezidans is in Selami Ali.

Kuzguncuk and Beylerbeyi run along the Bosphorus, another character: timber, yalı, walk-ups, tight streets. Waiting at the door is not always possible. Kuzguncuk market is Wednesday around Bostan and Tomruk Suyu. Climbing from Beylerbeyi toward Küplüce, the slope grows. Çengelköy is a main northern neighbourhood: konaks and walk-ups on the shore, sites above. Kuleli Caddesi is the main axis. “I’m in Çengelköy” covers a shore walk-up and an upper site with a serious difference in access. Erguvan Evleri, Çengelköy Sitesi, Özyuva. Kandilli is small in population, green, villas and konaks; the last kilometre. Finding the gate after leaving the main road can take time — a pin helps especially here.

Güzeltepe, Ferah, Bahçelievler, Yavuztürk, Mehmet Akif Ersoy sit further inland and north-east: newer blocks, mass housing, wider settlement. Fewer famous sites than the centre; building doors and parking still matter. Mehmet Akif Ersoy is more inland than Çengelköy–Beylerbeyi; Boğaziçi Çamlıca Sitesi and Nazenin Konakları are named on this belt. The M5 runs from Üsküdar through Fıstıkağacı, Bağlarbaşı, Altunizade, Kısıklı, Bulgurlu — a reference, not a parking guarantee.
